"Move the Ocean" is an experimental interactive installation and research by Beka Tcharbadze and Baris Pekcagliyan that explores the concept of being the ocean. Through the use of Kinect sensors, Touchdesigner and Unreal Engine, the ocean is transformed into a non-humanoid virtual avatar of the viewer, inviting them to experience the ocean in a new and immersive way.

The installation is meant to be diversely interpreted, and can have a completely different meaning varying from one viewer to the next. It invites the viewer to ponder on the question: What could it be to be the ocean? And what can the ocean teach us?

Tao, which is often translated as "the way," is a central principle in Chinese philosophy that emphasizes the importance of living in harmony with the natural world and embracing the flow of life. Wu Wei, which means "effortless action," is a key aspect of Taoism that encourages individuals to let go of control and allow things to unfold naturally.

Can the ocean, as a natural element, teach us the importance of embracing the natural movement of life? Just like the ocean does not think, it flows.

"Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished." - Lao Tzu

Cell Farming is a movement and digital art research made in Dock11 AR Residanz 2022.

In the Open Lab, it forms itself as an interactive installation accompanied by 2 performances.

Cellular automata was a landmark discovery, enabling scientists to model and more deeply understand evolving social dynamics.
LifeViewer, one of the leading software for simulating cellular automata, allowed these complex, emergent patterns to be viewable in 2D.
Our vision extends the concept of LifeViewer: instead of a single pixel replicating on a board,
abstract patterns are composed of dance-made traces. The dramaturgical core of this project is the translation of cellular automata into a dance framework.
As the cells that colonize space over time are quite literally produced by a human performer, we bring awareness to our sense of agency within our own evolution.

Publication to accident contrôlé: variation on rotation, a dialog between Jo Kolski and dramaturg and scholar Jonas Rutgeerts

Out of the Box #2

In the dance-theater piece sp( ! )n – accident contrôlé, Jo Kolski exploresthe tension between the zen practice of the “controlled accident” and thewestern idea of utilitarianism, in the context of the amusement industry. accident contrôlé: variation on rotation is an adaptation of the piece, created for Out of the Box. It focuses on the interaction of the body with a useless machine: a rusty pantograph. Combining a fascination for geometrical patterns, industrial civilization and purposelessness, soft shapes and rough materials collide to create a poetic landscape.accident contrôlé comprises two chapters of körpermaschine, Jo Kolski’s ongoing investigation and questioning of heritage – ruins? – of industrial society. “körpermaschinen” are kinetic sculptures, objects, and spacesthat set bodies in motion and create narratives. Science meets tinkering, show culture meets social critique. By inserting playfulness into objectsand areas associated with work, Jo Kolski deconstructs the seriousnessof functionality.

The experimental performance project Out of the Box, organized by MMpraxis and CAA Berlin, provides a platform for Berlin-based emerging choreographers to adapt existing stage works to a gallery space. After having been selected through an open call, the second part of Out of the Box will present works by choreographers Robert Ssempijja and Jo Kolski. Zönotéka, the gallery hosting this iteration of the project, will be open to the artists for a week of rehearsals before presenting their work to the public. In addition, the artists are invited to receive support from a mentor of their choice.
Organized by MMpraxis and CAA Berlin in collaboration with Zönotéka. Supported by the NATIONAL PERFORMANCE NETWORK – STEPPING OUT, funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media within the framework of the initiative NEUSTART KULTUR.

Organism is a movement and digital art research made in Dock11 AR Residanz 2022.

Organism is an immersive, mixed reality performance. An ongoing exploration of dissolving into matter, where sound become movement, heartbeat is a common wave in space and every body-part is an extension of the collective core.Every action has a reaction, moving correlated. We are able to process this when we are slowing down.
Letting our senses experience the whole.
Everyone of us are creating in space in each moment. The eternal question is, what is coming next?

Story Of The Moon is a music video for the second single from the album Dreamfolk by @peppler_music and a visual exploration that explores the relationship between the moon and the earth. The video is a visual exploration by Barış Pekcağlıyan (Link: https://www.instagram.com/0bapek/) and exploring the relationship between the moon and the earth with a personal comment. The video is created as a experimental mixed media artwork by using mix of self made videos, 3D animations, generative art with creative coding, and Stable Diffusion AI. With the help of artificial intellegince the video is stylized according to art style of Vincent Van Gogh oil paintings.

Scheinwelten1: Lost Gravity is a movement and digital art research made in Dock11 AR Residanz 2022.
An interplay of visual, audio, and movement art, Scheinwelten 1 is based on a long-standing research on pyramids by Nadja (Haas) Dances, focusing on the potential influences of geometric shapes on our body, mind, and finally movement. Inspired by the Egyptian pyramid, a smaller version as a sculpture made by Nadja out of copper tubes (1.57m high forming a 2x2sqm) has been used for the rehearsals and for recording the movement material with the dancers. For the Open Lab, it becomes a 3 screen video installation made by Baris Pekcagliyan using TouchDesigner and Unreal Engine accompanied by a performance by Nadja Haas.

Persona is an ongoing audiovisual exploration and collaboration by Katrine Bregnum and Baris
Pekcagliyan. Inspired by Jungian concepts, Persona observes identity on the faces and the movement. Whoever looks into themselves risks a confrontation with themselves. Persona researches for the self behind the mirrors, namely the face hidden to the world, covered with personas, masks of the actor. Persona observes these masks and melts them into each other, questions who are the voices in our minds, and who is the witness. It wanders around the edges of physical and digital, takes the least used paths in the forest, and explores itself on the road.
Persona expresses itself as an A/V performance and installations by Katrine Bregnum’s sound and BarisPekcagliyan’s visuals. Uses photographs and videos taken from the physical world by Barış Pekçağlıyan and re-creates itself every time by adding the element of generative art.
Music: Katrine Bregnum
