Baris Pekcagliyan is a lens-based artist and developer who was born in Ankara/Turkey. His current personal work is shaped by visual experiments which he plays with the idea of space and time, and inspired by human, nature and abstract forms. In his personal works, he explores inner landscapes inspired by his reflections from psychoanalytic, spiritual, philosophical concepts and their relationships with myths, nature, and personal experiences.
To shape his stories, he mostly creates photographs and videos in an altered space of time, by using abstractions and manipulations he made by using lens-based techniques and tangible objects. In addition to his lens-based creations, he uses code and creative technologies to create digital worlds, interactive and/or immersive experiences and generative creations which mostly consist of elements from his photography and videography. He also collaborates with other artists and developers to create these digital experiences collectively.
He has a degree in B.Sc Computer Science from Bilkent University in Ankara/Turkey, and he received a degree in M.A Photography from UE in Berlin/Germany where he has been continuing his works.
